CHARLIE MORRIS

Charlie Morris is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from St Petersburg. He plays original roots music that draws on a range of styles, from folk to bluegrass to blues. His sophisticated style on guitar and Dobro complements the stories he tells with his songs.

Charlie is noted for his lyrics. He’s a storyteller in the vein of John Prine or Steve Earle, and his tall tales touch on current issues (especially the environment), crazy characters and the life of a touring musician. On first listen, you’ll laugh, but a second hearing may make you reflect more sadly.

Charlie has appeared at top clubs and festivals all over Florida, in Louisiana, Tennessee, Switzerland, France, Spain, Germany, Belgium and the UK. He currently hosts a Songwriters Showcase every Wednesday at the MNM BBQ in St Pete. Also, Charlie Morris’s upcoming new CD, Folkie: Charlie’s 11th CD on Blues Coast Records includes 10 new original songs in Charlie’s eclectic acoustic style. Most of the songs fit into the Americana genre, with some straying into bluegrass and old-time territory, building to a little rock and roll at the end.

A passel of players and friends join Charlie on the new CD, including bassist Alan Craig, Fiddler John Richard, mandolinist Kevin Holloway, Trumpeter James Suggs and harmonic wizard TC Carr.

TOM SCUDIERO:

Singer and Songwriter Tom Scudiero offers a humorous (“Louie”), yet heartbreaking observation and narrative of life (“A River Rolls On”). You feel as though he lefts you imagine snapshots of travelogue; people and places that you may know intimately or may have imagined. His sound is distinct, earthy and leaves one with the immense sense of wonder. It is incredibly rare to come across an artist so moving and thought provoking. Tom Scudiero performs musical poetry to say the least! Check out his music on website etc.
